Helping those in the Atlanta area become part of the Long Gray Line
Helping US Military Academy graduates continue their lifetime of service to the nation
Several events are held throughout the year to help graduates stay connected. These regularly include golf outings, community service, professional development webinars and occasional happy hours.

The society is committed to area outreach in a number of initiatives that range from assisting older graduates to promoting diversity & inclusion with admissions goals.
On September 3rd, 2021, WPSA members supported USMA's Leadership and Diversity in Sciences program with 100 Atlanta public high-schoolers.
Thank you to COL Tony Bianchi '97, West Point Garrison Commander, providing the keynote to 236 attendees at Founder's Day at the 2023 Capital City Club.
Congratulations to our 2023 Distinguished Graduate Award winner, Joe Sroka, '8 (above, center) for exceptional community service.
It was an equal privilege to honor SGT Roger Wise as the Outstanding Georgia Citizen, and Dave Taylor '68 with the John R. Petty Award.

In 2021, WPSA hosted the Army/Navy watch party with over 300 Army Football fans at Sweetwater Brewing.
WPSA also coordinated a BBQ tailgate for over 200 Army fans including the Superintendant and Rabble Rousers for the September game against Georgia State. Army won 41-10!
In 2022, 225 USNA and USMA fans cheered Army to another victory at Hudson Grille in Sandy Springs.
WPAOG Career Services and WPSA held a networking event in May 2022 at Elsewhere Brewing (owned by Sam Kazmer,‘10)

Named for John R. Petty, class of ’61, this 501c3 philanthropy fund and community volunteer group equips and inspires Graduates to serve the Society, Atlanta and its mission.
John was one of the most beloved and admired members of the Society. He served over 25 years as an officer, board member, and President.
Recognizing West Point’s stated aim of producing “leaders of character for our Army and for service to our nation”, our members proudly include numerous military retirees such as LTG Steven Arnold, '62, BG Daniel Kaufman '68, COL Sam C. Holliday '67, COL Donald R. Reinhard '59, BG Zeb B. Bradford, '56, COL Irving B Schoenberg '48, and GEN Edwin H Burba, '59.
Notable public servants among our members include HON Greeley H. Ellis '53, a retired Judge and 63 year member of the Georgia Bar, HON James T. Chaffin '73, and BG Jason E. Kelly '94, CDR South Atlantic Corp of Engineers, and Michael Bowers '63, former Attorney General of Georgia.
Local business leaders include: Steve Cannon, '86, Richard Bowers '68, John W.D. Feight, John Bardis, Duke Doubleday, Bill Saling, Bette Rose Bowers, Teresa Stoker, Ken DeSimone, Frantz K. Fortune, Josiah Benator, and Dr. Melvin Pinder among many others.
